Lynch, JDPSN received Inka from Zen Master Robert Moore on April
9, 2006; in the ceremony he received the title of Jido Popsa-nim
which roughly translated from the Korean means Honored Dharma
Master and is parallel to the title of Sensei bestowed in Japanese
Lineages. Popsa-nim had served as the Abbot of the Zen Center
since its beginnings in 1993 and began practicing with Zen Master
Moore in the late nineteen-eighties. Before settling into Zen
practice Paul studied Vipassana Buddhist Meditation for several
years with Greg Penn, DD in Escondido, CA.
Lynch
JDPSN has been practicing Buddhist meditation for more than twenty
five years, and with the sanction of Zen Master Robert Moore and
the assistance and encouragement of Zen Master Sungsan, founded
the Huntington Beach Zen Center on August 14th of 1993. He served
as Abbot of the Zen Center from 1993 until the fall of 2007. The
Huntington Beach Zen Center was renamed the Ocean Eyes Zen Center
by Zen Master Sungsan in 1995 when it moved to Stanton, CA. In
1997 the center once again relocated to Long Beach and continued
as a residential zen center until December of 1999 when the city
of Long Beach forced us to close our doors. We re-emerged in September
of 2000 with a non residential location and a Zoning variance
which allowed us to run a church at our present location. In October
of 2007 Posa-nim handed over the administration of the center
to focus more on teaching. Paul currently is the CEO of InSync
Technologies, LLC in Irvine, CA.
