The Golden Wind Zen Group is an affiliation of Zen Centers, Teachers and Students who follow the teachings and direction of Zen Master Robert Moore. Our Guding Teacher is the 79th Patriarch in a direct lineage from Zen Master Sŭngsan in the Korean Chögye–Jŏng Order of Sŏn Buddhism. Founded in the tradition of Chan/Sŏn/Zen Buddhism which came to the West from China, Korea and Japan, the Golden Wind Zen Group is run by a Board of Directors and a sub commitee of Abbots from the affiliated Zen Centers. It has always been the dream of Jibong sŏnsa to have a decentralized group of like minded practioners that share in a common direction yet have local control over their own groups and centers. It is essential that each Zen Center maintain its autonomy concerning its membership, its schedules and its structure of financial support; however, it is required that each group adhere to the teachings, style and direction set forth by our Guiding Teacher Zen Master Robert Moore.

In a world of uncertainty our goal is to evoke compassion and peace in this universe. We practice to find that compassion and peace in our own hearts and then by acting together with this world, bring about a harmony and spirit of connectedness to our fellow human beings. As our grand-teacher Zen Master Sŭngsan always taught, "Outside world peace is only possible, if you first attain inside world peace."
